FAQs

Past the newborn stage (first 12-15 weeks) it is up to you when you want to begin. I always tell clients that if what you are currently doing works for you, there is no need to change that. I believe families see the best results around sleep when they make a conscious decision to change something that is no longer working. This takes courage, commitment, and trusting that your child can learn these new skills. My door is always open, even if you feel you are not ready now but want to circle back in a few months! Every child is different and every parent knows their child best.

My professional background is working with families of children birth to three years old. My potty training and in-home organizational services are geared towards the child under 4 years old. My sleep services are designed for expecting parents all the way up through the school aged child.

Absolutely not. Cry it out, or “extinction”, is only one form of sleep training. I believe families should approach sleep training using whatever tools they feel most comfortable implementing - this will ultimately lead to a more positive relationship with sleep for everyone and quicker results. There are many ways to help a child learn how to fall asleep, and fall back asleep independently, ranging from physical and verbal assistance to a more hands off approach.

Yes, I believe that preparing the physical space around potty training can greatly impact your child’s success. For those families interested in fostering a Montessori inspired space within their home, I offer in-person services as well. For my sleep services I work virtually with families to support their little ones to sleep. From time to time I do offer in-person group events too.

Sleep is not a straight line and yes, there will be bumps along the way. I believe in living your life, which includes traveling and being out and about on the river or in the mountains with your child all day. Travel can add some new and different challenges, especially if you are traveling across time zones, but it might just require some adjustments and some letting go of expectations! I believe it is equally as important to practice adaptability and being on-the-go as it is to be consistent and have a routine. Although as a parent myself, I have learned to define travel as a “new experience” rather than a “vacation” :)
