Ready For Potty Success?

My goal is to help families reframe potty training and ditch the power struggles. Remove the stress and frustration on your part and help your little ones develop a healthy and positive relationship with their body and the toilet learning process.

Are You Wondering…

  • How to begin this seemingly daunting process?

  • Why your child will pee on the toilet but won’t poop?

  • Whether your child is ready or not?

  • Why your child all of a sudden stopped using the toilet after being interested for months?

  • Why your otherwise sweet child has such big feelings around potty training?

What If…

  • We learned how to work with our child instead of against them?

  • You asked questions or made requests that don’t end in power struggles or “no!”?

  • Your child learned to respond to, and honor, their bodily functions without external motivation?

  • You had the tools to leave the house and live your life while still supporting your child’s toilet learning journey?

  • Potty training became a fun and enjoyable process for everyone?

FAQs

  • This varies for each and every child and it can even differ sibling to sibling. A child’s temperament and big life changes can play a huge role in the overall success of learning to use the toilet. What worked for your neighbor or your first born may not necessarily work this time around, that’s OK! Learning to use the toilet is similar to learning to walk or use a utensil, but it comes with some inconveniences for us adults - ultimately we need to ask ourselves if we are ready to support our child and focus on the process, not the outcomes.

  • Some common signs your young child might be ready to begin the process - they are showing a heightened interest in using the toilet, you going to the bathroom, and general self-care processes. Are they communicating they are wet or need to be changed, are they grabbing at their diaper or pants? Are they showing an interest or newfound ability in dressing or undressing themselves? Have they begun to stay dry for longer stretches of time, possibly during a nap even? These may all be signs they are ready to begin - book a FREE Discovery call and let’s chat!

  • No. You should definitely go live your life and travel, or even a day full of errands, does not need to derail your child’s toileting journey. Travel can add some new and different challenges but I truly believe with a consistent approach your child can learn to be adaptable in many new and different scenarios. You may need to remember to pack more pairs of dry clothes and slow down to leave time to practice using the bathroom in public, but you got this!

  • I am happy to chat with any family struggling with the toileting journey. My experience is mostly in preparing infants, toddlers, and preschoolers for success around using the toilet. I am always happy to chat and if I don’t feel it will be the right fit, I can refer you to someone who is!

  • The majority of my sleep and potty training clients are virtual but I am happy to offer in-person services to local families. I do believe that setting up the physical environment for success can greatly help in the overall potty training process. I am currently working on Mountain Standard Time.
